Why yes, I do miss my high rail sometimes; thanks for asking!

 

Probably the only time I am really going to be glad it is gone is in the single digit temps! On a nice sunny day I can usually keep up with most of the quickloaders.

 

I never found the 80 footer to be quicker but it sure is nice not flipping flippers. No more sliding decks to make sure you can get out the door okay. Hauling bigger units I found take more time than on the high rail due to strapping the frame or even just moving straps out of the way versus hauling 9 and rarely touching anything prior to loading. But I could not see ever going back. I still have nightmares about slip plating high rail trailers and 4 car headracks.

 

Starting today I am thinking “outside of the box” for backhaul opportunities. Sorry the picture isn’t clear, but neither is this guys idea of proper securement.

 

That is waaaay outside of the box!! We expect pics of your first load. Ooo. If you ordered your quick loader with belly pans just think of the possibilities!!

Since I am rather familiar with UPS and still have some connections, I was thinking of backhauling packages in the belly stacked 13’6 ish and lower the top deck down on top of them to keep them snug. Maybe get a tarp for when it rains.

 

There ya’ go! You just solved the car haul back haul dilemma! Get that money driver!

 

I would forgo the tarp. You don't want flatbedders po'd that your stealing their work. As long as you stick to packages and residential deliveries that 80ft. package is gonna give ups and FedEx a run for their money.
