You see a lot of flatbeds moving pipe along the Gulph Coast. All of the pipe has colored ends but the colors vary from truck to truck. Is there any significance to the different colors?

Yes. Different colors indicate wall thickness. Higher pressure or a road crossing would call for a thicker walled pipe.
