This has been answered HUNDREDS of times in this thread alone already along with another thread as many times as well. It is legal to carry in your CMV or any vehicle as long as you follow the rules for the state you are in. If you read through this thread the answers are there as to where to find the information for each state.

now this subject has been talked about over and over for years and has been on this post numerous time and i still see guys quoting federal law concearning firearms in a truck.
due to the fact if you have and go by the wrong information it can result in some pretty serious charges so im going to say it again.
THERE IS NO FEDERAL LAW against fire arms in a truck, there use to be BUT that law was repealed in 1968 leaving enforcement to each individual state and that is a fact not rumor or a truck driver story , you van look it up on the internet. if you think there is please give me a federal statut number.
each state has there own law concearning fire arms and the best thing you can do is call the state your going to travel to find out the real law, if you dont in some states it can cost you your freedom and a lot of money, for example the state of new york cost me 10.000 and 10 days in jail just for posesion , now that was many years ago , i still carry but i dont go to new york period they can starve to death.
most western states will honor a cwp but not all again it is best to call, i cant tell you about the east coast i just dont go there it is not in my atlas.
the worst mistake you can make is to listen to a truck driver story when it comes to your freedom evey one has a different version of the law and just as the federal law that was repealed so many years ago there wrong period.
remember a truck driver is a truck driver most of them anyway they are not attorneys buy any means act accordingly.
best of luck.---southernpridetscottme Thanks this. -
12 ga. pump a must. Breaking into cabs and robbing drivers is a common problem & I'm not going to be a victim.

I used to carry a sawed off 20 ga. when I was hauling seafood coast to coast(Miami-LA) now I just try to stay away from these areas....I did , however hear a guy saying something about carrying a paint ball gun. Got me to thinking, can you imagine getting shot with a red paintball? or worse getting shot in the face with one????

The average person is OK until they get out on the road then in kicks the road rage and they become an evil monster. I have met very few truckers that act like they have enough since to have a loaded weapon on their person. Turn the CB on 19 for a few minutes and ask yourself if the person talking needs to have one or not????
Just curious, but why did you quote me and then reply that? Did I say anything about someone not being allowed to own a weapon? Or imply that I didn't? -
