Hey everyone, newbie here. I'll cut to the chase...
I'm curious what companies (assuming 100+ employees) are mandating their truckers get the vaccine or be subject to termination? Or conversely, what companies are giving Uncle Joe the middle finger and won't comply? Im looking to compile a list of companies here, so actual names would be helpful.

I'm currently employed by the FAA. I've been an air traffic controller for 11 years now, and a supervisor for 5. I love my job, but thanks to sleepy Joe, I'm soon going to be out of a job because I refuse to get the jab. So now Im looking into the CDL route as the quickest means to support my family. I am located in the Quad Cities IA/IL area.

Please, I am sincerely looking for good companies to work for that recognize this whole mandate thing is BS. It will do me no good to leave my current career field, only to go to work for another company that is going to screw me over again over the vax mandate. So if you only have comments like "just get the jab, it's not so bad!", or the classic "I hope you anti-vaxxers get sick and die!", save your breath because I've heard them all.

    Thanks in advance!

Tyson for sure. But you are better off getting your CDL on your own rather than through a trucking company. Private truck schools, Community Colleges etc. Best companies to work for are the smaller ones with less than 100 employees.

Thanks! Got any idea how to go about finding those small mom/pop outfits? All I seem to be coming up with are all the major carriers.

question why would you up root your family. you supporting them and being a great provider is everything. i got the shot myself. didnt want to. but did it anyway. losing 1 person 10 years from now is better then losing 5 people today. you owe it to your family to keep it going. every company will do this shot thing eventually. just a matter of time.

I'm not uprooting them, at least not in the sense of moving to a different locale. We're too rooted in our current location to move anywhere.
I have medical, political, and religious reasons for not getting the jab, which I will not discuss here. I respect people's decisions to get the vaccine, please respect my decision for not getting it.

Just get a fake vaccine passport. Cheaper than changing careers.

I took the single dose jab back in May at my local VA hospital. Ever since about 2 to 3 weeks afterward, I have had a marked increase with angina. Going through the process of getting a CDL and finally getting on your own on average is going to take anywhere from four to seven months. I have a feeling this situation with the mandates might well be decided before then. If you can I would suggest taking a leave of absence OR actually make the FAA fire you! This way you have options later on. I have an HS friend that is a supervisor at the Atlanta ARTCC in Hampton Georgia and recently was faced with this, he went on and got the jab! In the end, you must do what you deem to be the best! I highly recommend you stay with the FAA!
