Does he say "progress" in a speech over 11 times? If not. He's better than the one we've got.
Fuel is now $4 a gallon, time for all of us to demand $4 a mile minimum on all loads

I've been trying to figure out what the future costs are going to be but there are some serious variables that are impossible to predict. Fuel should rise to about $6 per gallon comparing to what Europe is paying. Parts, if you can even find them, are going to be whatever someone is willing to sell to us for. I just paid over $300 for a $70 part, why? Because it was the only one that was available anywhere. The guys at Freightliner spent on hour on the phone getting that one. Tires look like they are going to jump about $200 each for a low pro 22.5.
It's all going up fast and it looks like we are going to get a replay of the late 70's. For those of you who weren't around, it got so bad that nobody could tell you what something was going to cost until they actually received it and knew what the price was.
By the end of the year $4 pm may be cheap freight. It's all hard to predict right now. I'm moving to the high side on all my loads to make sure I have something in the bank if prices jump to the sky all of a sudden.Nostalgic and Snailexpress Thank this. -

Mad king geesh, some guys don't no how things work.
Infrastructure bill is spread over 10 years. That makes it a 3rd of the what the pentagon spends every year.
Pipelines that were shut down, we talk w never finshed. So no loss of oil there. AND that oil was slated to go over seas. So it was never ginna be used here to begin with.brsims, special-k and Seatrucker5 Thank this. -
Fuel is $4 per gal but it is still better than when it was $1.5 per gal and they paid $1.5 per average mile 18 months back.
BTW: How are those working on fuel surcharge doing, making a killing? They were always ecstatic about high prices of diesel and I did not hear from them much lately.Nostalgic Thanks this. -
