A long, long time ago..........in a Flagstaff not too far, far away............somewhere in The Coconino National Forrest............we went fire wood harvesting.

Well I read the guide wrong. You're not supposed to fell a tree over 36" inches in diameter.

I thought it said it had to be at least 36".

So it knocks down this mega oak tree too when it went.

So, the ranger is there like 30 seconds later. He let us go, but said we couldn't keep the wood. We estimated 8 cord between the two trees.

We came back two days later and him and his buddies had cut up the whole works. Nothing but saw dust left.

Mmmmmmm never tried kitty biskits. Bear Grylus probably know how to use them.

I've always been a fan of jobsite lumber scraps. It's 99% Doug Fir, and it works great, and guys are happy to get rid of it.

    plenty growing up near Flagstaff.

Could import from Cali. Buy a van load all ready cut, split, and stacked on pallets. Open a Firewood stand and sell to the tree challenged masses. Should be enough to pay for his winter stash.

Then again with good insulation and the moderate winters he will see.... Wont need much.

True, Cali seems to have lots of wood to burn. Dave could find some free firewood. Throw it on the back of Trailer on his way home. Seems like radiant heating would be good in AZ. Small systems can run off a water heater. Expensive upfront. Still need a separate A/C unit. Guess a heat pump would be most common. One unit, all electric. Dave’s an Electrician. I wonder what his thoughts are. Why not Total Electric? I’m not a big fan of natural gas. It’s a must where I live. Due to lower cost. Furnace, water heater, dryer, stove. Occasionally a house blows up. Collateral damage. I don’t trust the old underground pipes. Along with the whole carbon monoxide killing you in your sleep thing. I could do without it.

Wife was not happy. Had to scrape frost of the car window. Phone is showing 33f outside as the skies lighten.

I'm going to have a cup of coffee and think about cleaning my windshield. Port has not released the containers they pulled of on Friday.
