When Safety Meetings go bad.

Good to hear that guys are quitting due to the cameras. Hopefully the company is learning a lesson.

 

Sounds like a few work sponsored Xmas parties ive been to , gets ugly quick.

Hypocrisy at its finest.

 

You want the truth? Nothing will change. These companies keep offering larger sign-on bonuses, they fill the seats at a lower wage than before, and they ride the cycle until the next mass exodus. I saw it at McLane, my partner saw it there and at Coke, and he'll even the oilfield is getting tattle-tales in their equipment. Companies like Fed-Ex and UPS even document if you start the engine before buckling up as it costs an extra $0.02 in fuel, they continue to grow though because most of us have to work.

 

The last one I went to, some safety man states that he drove 13 years. Then he goes into the whole spill about how many feet it takes to stop, from the time you see the brake light of the car in front of you to the time it takes to react and get a rig from 60 to 0.

(Yep. This again. Think I will take a nap.)

I used to love it when the safety man would call me on the phone when i was driving only to lecture me about how unsafe it is to talk on the phone when driving.

 

Dumbest dealing I had with my safety department:

Tow truck driver incompetently dragged my truck against a fence causing damage to both the fence and truck while generating an accident report within my company.

Despite the incident being completely not my fault, they subjected me to mandatory post incident safety training because thats what they always do to drivers after an incident.
