    Hi,
I have a few questions regarding obtaining a Florida CDL Permit. I have been trying to contact the Florida CDL customer support for days now and I cannot get a hold of anyone. I am temporarily residing in Arizona, however, my permanent residence is in Florida. I do not have a home in Florida and the only ties I have to Florida are my driver's license, my license plates for my vehicles, my car registration, my car insurance, a bank account with a credit union that is only in Florida, and a Florida mailbox. Will any of this suffice as proof of residency? If not, do you have any advice? FYI: I do not have any ties to Arizona, I am staying at an Air BNB and I do not pay utilities. However, I do have a mailbox attached to the place I am staying. My next question is; can I take the Florida CDL permit test online at home or somewhere here in Arizona instead of flying back to Florida to take the test? I really appreciate your time and help in advance.

    Thank you! :)

Assuming you have the gold star on your DL. That proves residency. But otherwise Bank and auto insurance would work.

Just so you know. I initially was living in Florida when I first got my CDL learner's permit. But, right afterward I ended up moving to Arizona. My Florida CDL learner's permit wouldn't transfer, I had to retake the tests. It wasn't a problem, and my med card from a Florida clinic was still good, so didn't need to retake my physical.

I am unaware of any online testing available through any DMV ( or in AZ it's the MVD). Kinda doesn't seem likely to me. Seems to me it would be too hard to verify it was you taking the test that way. Never heard of a DMV test proctored either.
Hope you figure out a workable solution for you!

I'm in Florida and just got my permit for school. Even though I had a recent Class E license and picture they wanted a new picture and eye test for the CDL permit. You're probably going to have to come back to Florida for in person

Thank you for this information! Did you have to show proof of residency?

Do you have family or close friends in FL that would be willing to write a letter stating that you live with them therefore have no rent or utilities in your name?.

That's what I had to do when I moved back to FL after years away. My old FL driver's license wasn't proof of residency.

If your Florida license has your Florida mailbox address as your address you are golden. Just be sure to keep the dues for the mailbox paid up. You will likely have to go there to do any business regarding your license, with the exception of updating your Medical card.

On the positive it's nice down there this time of year, so there's that.
