It got a little cold out and my isx15 is whistling. Is this normal?

Cold the idle has gone up to 760 and it's generating a bit of boost, so you can here it whistle. Is this normal for an isx15? It's a 2016 with 500k on it and new to me. Thanks

When it regens it will boost the rpm up and make about 5-10psi of boost

If the engine wants to regen and not at temperature , it will raise the rpms up to build heat until it reaches the temp where it will start a full regen.

Thanks. I'll take it a distance. Done nothing long enough to get it hot.

Is the wistle consistent or does it change or come and go with RPM/ Boost while driving?
    Warm its gone?

It goes away when I bring the idle up. I haven't driven it since it did it yesterday. I got home from a short 3 mile no load trip, parked in the lot started it two hours later to put it in its garage and it did it for the first time. Started it today and cold it did the same thing. Bring the idle up to 1000 and the boost and whistle go away.

Hard to say for sure without hearing it. Some call a normal turbo noise a whistle.

More common would be an exhaust manifold gasket cracked and leaking. Inspect for soot trails (black streaks) around the manifold to cylinder head, especially #2 and #5. When the exhaust back pressure leaks by the bi-metal gasket it whistles like a blade if grass between your thumbs.

I drove it today, got it up to temp and ran about forty minutes. It still does it, warm or cold. Whistle must just be turbo whine. It goes away off idle. Why would it be kicking the idle up to 760 and adding boost?
