Never attended a safety meeting. Couple of times drivers told me management cant keep control of the meeting and points of discussion wander off into drivers blabbering on with their war stories and general whining. Face it....companies don't give a fiddlers F about your opinion.

In the oilfield, safety meetings are as common as farts. A few times a year we would have something called safety stand downs. All operations would cease for the day and we would have a company wide meeting in a local hotel conference room. Good food. Usually toss in a drug test for everyone.

I usually had to lead the charge against the management BS since nobody else would speak up. I always hated the “we care about you and safety is priority” crap while on a daily basis pushing to do the opposite. I Wasn’t well liked at these meetings. Had one manager try to jump over a table at me cause I wouldn’t back down. It really was all lip service.

KAG had some good info at their safety meetings but then the upper management would talk.
I asked a straight forward question and the manager did an amazing waltz around it but still never actually answering it. As soon as he was done and trying to move on I calmly restated the question. Now everyone realizes what he did and now they too want an answer. He didn't like me.

I would have taken pics of other peoples trucks just to see if they pay attention or not. Every day just send pics of different trucks. Even googled pics.
