I need a new U-joint. I've never not used Spicer in anything. International doesn't have any in stock, and they want like $330 for one with a strap kit. Fleetpride has their house brand in stock for about $130.

Have you ever used an off-brand U-joint before? Do they hold up? Money isn't so much the concern, as I don't want to wait.

Edit: Ogburn's has Neapco U-joints in stock as well.

Edit: Nevermind, I found a Spicer at Inland Truck Parts. You can still share your thoughts on the matter for future generations if you want, but my problem is solved.

I have always used Spicer. Have you checked with a drive train shop in your area. There is one near me, and they have always had in stock what I needed.

Yeah, check my second edit. Inland has a pile of them! Just got home in fact.

Not gonna lie...it had me paranoid enough that if I couldn't find Spicer joints, I just wasn't going to replace it at all until I could.

Lets just say the only time I've ever dropped a driveshaft is when the shop was going through a "cost saving" phase of buying the cheapest import they could find. Luckily that only lasted until the shop manager had to explain the cost of an engine replacement after a cheap turbo grenaded.

Old one out. I hoped I could do it under the truck, but no luck. Had to pull the whole drive line and get busy with a sledge hammer. Holy fudgepacker was that thing wiped out. I didn't replace it before, because "I've seen worse." Well.....it got worse.

Heh, thats how i got a deal on my f250, cost me my savings in the otc tool and fillng the neighbors oxy acytelene tanks, "20 dollar part, how hard could it be?" As it turns out 1 inch free rotation meant 4 hrs and melting the joint out, 0 needles in the whole thing, greasable joint, probably never had been in 210k. Loud as a 12 gauge when it finally released
