Those heavy duty wreckers are not a couple hundred thousand dollars more like 3/4 of $1 million especially for the rotators that he has

$25k paintjob is peanuts when you're dropping $700k+ on a truck.

The average truck runs for what? $3/mile gross give or take? At 50 MPH that's $150/hour.

A big rotator costs around $750k. About 4x the average freight spec truck. Why shouldn't they be allowed to charge $600/hour for an expensive unit like that?

let's not forget state, county and city contracts , government grants and loans and who knows what else.

but I still don't see how that justifies being over-charged for a tow? I pay alot of of money as well on my tractor, maintenance, insurance, IFTA, Registration....but I have to follow a government log book...where as wreckers don't legally have to abide by one since they are on call 24/7

just because you 3/4 of a million for a wrecker doesn't make you better than me or give the right to over charge me ...and if they are so poor why are they chroming out their wreckers and getting extravagant paint jobs to enter in competitions

doesnt look to me like they are hurting
say what you want but I Know the game. ive been in this business to many years to play blind man and be naive ..

..bottom line is I know whats up and I'm woke and just wish things could be different so the system works for everyone involved

BTW the towing rates are set by the state not the individual Wrecker companies… now there might be some accessorial chgs The individual companies may set depending on what equipment they’ve got on the wrecker that they use

I thought that was only when they were under contract? I.E. removing a wreck. A "normal" tow is whatever is agreed upon by both parties, with the tow companies usually stating"This is the rate, take it or leave it."
