Drug tests are required for a cdl.
Some companies do urine test and some do hair follicle.

ALL should be doing the hair follicle test, IMO. No, I don't have a lock up all the dopeheads philosophy. I have a libertarian view on illegal recreational drugs. I believe all or some should be decriminalized. Pot, especially. If someone can grow it in their garden with their tomatoes, just get the government out of it.

No, I've never used illegal drugs. My view is simply regarding overeaching government power.

My problem is when an illegal drug user wants to operate an 80,000 pound truck on the highway. The risk is too great. Dopeheads are irresponsible losers anyway.

If I were you, I'd call around to different companies and put some feelers out there. You need to explain your situation. I say that because you have a hit and run, and that may need time to fall off. You can get it expunged, but I'd imagine that it still show on your license. Some companies need a out 3 years for certain offenses to fall off and others may need more. If it's 2019, then you may be in luck since the end of the year is near. Bigger issue though, you'll have to put that phone down get folks to call you instead of text. Just like you hit the car without paying attention,.if you do that in something as large as an 18 wheeler, it will be very devastating in many ways.

Getting the CDL will be the easy part. Getting a decent job will be the challenge

Expungement according to Judge, not Attorney.
    Not all Expungement Requests approved.
Mitigating circumstances like "hit & run" may prevent Expungement.

I'm NOT a Lawyer or Attorney or Legal Representative, just a Retired Long Haul Trucker who's still Learning about Trucking.

    Your Mileage will Vary.

Acquire a Very Proficient Attorney who specializes in Traffic Ticket(s) Expungement.
    Expect to pay some Coin!!

Talk with/Get an Attorney who specializes in TRAFFIC cases.
He'll have info regarding your future IF expungement is available.
    Not all expungements are granted.
Charged as ADULT is the backside kick.

    Keep Us Apprised!!

Just chatted with lawyer yesterday, I can put in a request for both charges expunged/dismissed. Once ive saved up enough ill go ahead and have my lawyer take care of all of that will just have the points on my record at that point!

I know it sounds weird , but for people reading this thread , it’s very important to retain an attorney and fight EVERY traffic ticket , no matter what the circumstances are. And no matter how small the ticket seems to be .
