I'd be happy to do that too, for that kind of money. Anything like hauling crude? I did that in ND and CO

Just finished applying to Pilot for fuel hauler and starting an app for KAG

FXF has a hiring event tomorrow that I scheduled a spot for, but I put in an app [required for interview] and the recruiting dept very quickly sent a reply saying no thanks so I'm not sure I should bother going

I wouldn't. With a $5K signing bonus they probably had quite a few applicants. As I recall there were less than a dozen interview times and and at least 7 jobs they were hiring for (some jobs had multiple openings). They're also, "granting competitive offers on the spot". It's not a job fair or even an interview - those who show up on time and can carry on a conversation without committing a spontaneous act of self abuse already have the job.

Thanks man. I was pretty much leaning that way. That really quick no on their part was like a kick in the teeth

Remember, Portland is FIERCELY competitive for all jobs. As long as the FLOOD continues (inbound Californians) there will still be 10+ applicants for every opening. It doesn't help when some yahoo from Buttlick, KY tells you they got hired at the same company that turned you down when they were fresh out of CDL school. You should also check out the dedicated options. They're the next best thing to linehaul:

    Cardinal
    JB Hunt
    Penske

When that happens, it’s usually an automated reply because you failed one of the basic qualifying questions on the application.
