So much fun flying up hills easily at 70 mph :D:D:D
11.4 mpg from Indiana to NYC.
Got pulled over for "not holding my lane" BS, PA cop just wanted to see the truck up close! Got a verbal warning and a 15 minute convo about the truck cost, what and how much it can tow and plenty of other questions. Didn't ask for any paperwork even though I didn't even have stickers on it yet lol.

I want to put super singles on the drive axles, wondering what my alcoa rims plus tires might fetch me on the used market? Rims not mint, tires look 90+%.
Need to figure out where I can mount an APU...

Looks nice.. but are you sure you want super singles? When I was at Prime they had them on their trucks/trailers and I can tell you with just a single axle truck if you get a flat you will be buying a new rim and new tire. Just a heads-up if you didn't think of that, but if you get a flat on a super single with just 1 axle, there is nothing else to hold the weight of the truck so all the weight will go to the rim and it will bend the rim.

When I was training we had a trailer blowout that took both tires on the same side and because there was nothing to hold the weight it bent both the rims, so they had to replace both rims & both tires. With duals you usually don't blow both so if one tire goes the 2nd will keep it from destroying the rim.

Yea I am still just thinking about it.
Maybe just super singles on the front drive axle and keep the duellies on the rear?
I dunno, maybe I will just clean up the rims and dress them up a bit. Not fully decided.

Yeah, I'd actually just ask around TBH to see what others say. I only had a blow out experience that one time but I wasn't the driver but I was on the truck and saw the damage. The roadside tire guy did say that he has to replace a lot of rims when dealing with super singles so that's where my opinion came from after seeing the 2 we had blow out and needed the rims. It ended up being like a $3,4k bill or something like that.

    singlescrewshaker Thanks this.
