Guys just a quick question, I am pretty sure all is compliant as I have read the HoS logs again and I don't see any violations that would happen.

So lets say you work 4 10hr shifts at a full-time job, in the office. Can you work 2 other days and stay within the HoS rules?

I've got an opportunity to work on my days off driving for a local company, delivering to local stores (reefer work). I work 4 10hr days Wed to Sat (finish at 1 or 2pm Saturday). I would be working Monday and Tuesday 5:30am to 3:30pm (10hr days approx). So I've got more then 36hrs off from when I finish my full-time job until the part-time gig would start. I would only be working 60hrs in 7 days. Really I can pick and choose if I want to work both days, 1 of the days or none of the days.

Am I good? I think I am but wanted to double check.

    Ontario if that really matters

You would only track your HOS hours while in service as a commercial vehicle operator. Monday and Tuesday.

Oh really.. I always thought you had to show the previous 7 days with logs to show how many hours you've work. Like I could be working crazy hours prior to going into into truck. Say I did 70 hours in 4 days at my full time job then drive 20 as a trucker. I would be way over HoS rules.

So I don't have to log my other jobs hours then. I'm in management for my full time company.

All your office work days (Wed-Sat) will be marked as OFF DUTY on your e-Log.

In CA you can work 70 hrs in 7 days but only 120 in 14 days
If your regular job is in the transport industry it has to be logged
Because you are taking 36 hrs off before driving it's a moot point cause you will reset to 0 hrs.

What he does at his office job has 0 impact on HoS as a commercial operator, even if that office job is in the transport industry.

Question 111: Must non transportation-related work for a motor carrier be recorded as on-duty time?

Guidance: Yes. All work for a motor carrier, whether compensated or not, must be recorded as on-duty time. The term “work” as used in the definition of “on-duty time” in §395.2 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs) is not limited to driving or other non transportation-related employment.

OP is not working for the motor carrier performing office duties.
He was two distinct employers, exempting him from logging on-duty time.

That seems bonkers........because how is that different than working at a desk outside the transportation industry?
