Meh, another busy day for Casey Jones. I read, there are almost 600 train/truck accidents in the US every year, almost 2 per day. Here's one for the "I can't believe it" file, but lawyers have begun suing already financially strapped train companies for negligence in crossing upkeep claiming the truck driver didn't get enough notice of an oncoming train. Nice,,,

This type of accident is due to driver inattentiveness imho.
Must have been a hot load of gravel.
Those cross buck xx warning signs are no less than 100 feet from the crossing and regulations dictate sign size and should be able to be discerned at least one eight mile before that.
I'm familiar w that crossing as I ran across last week.
They are turning the 2 lane into a 4 lane divided highway. Heavy truck traffic to the Costco DC in Owatonna.
Weird that westbound has a hazmat detour around the crossing but eastbound does not.

I’m willing to bet that most of these drivers involved in truck/train accidents would have no issues explaining to a 4wheeler how long it takes for a truck to stop, so it’s best not to be around them or cut them off. Yet they won’t apply that to a truck train scenario.

    just baffling.
