I remember when I went through training. The trainer was scared of driving in the snow. Yes make sure you have a seasoned trainer not a truck driver. I repeat a "seasoned trainer" just because someone knows how to drive a truck doesn't make them a teacher. It happens in a whole lot of areas. Having the ability to teach a skill is different than having the skill. Do ask that question when your time comes to be to trained. Now go get those snow boots and chain up.

Where is he learning? Alaska?
I’m sure you and your trainer will at least do your first load heading south?
Winter driving is really no more dangerous than heavy rain. Just watch your speed and following distance. Hell, I’m from Florida and have been doing it for over 30 years!

Carry lock de-ice spray if you throw a padlock on your trailer doors.(van and reefer drivers)
