Is it possible to find a job involving driving dump trucks that don't require a CDL license? I would like to have some idea on the type of work that does this type of work... That's the type of work that I would like to do if possible... Any help will be appreciated

Any dump truck on a public road will require a Class B CDL, and if it tows a trailer you need Class A.
You can drive mining dump trucks without a CDL because they usually operate only on private land. 40-400 ton payloads! -

You won’t be hauling much material with a 25,000 lb gvw limit. There might be a use for such a small dump truck but there will be very few jobs for it. Probably best bet is with landscapers. Non CDL drivers usually make under $20/hr.

While many landscaping and construction firms do use light duty dump trucks, usually the job involves operating machinery that you may not be used to. The dump truck is just a sideline to the job, and not many places hire someone to just drive the little dump truck. While the machinery experience is useful, not many places will take the time to teach you. I say, just get the CDL, then you can run with the big boys,,,and riches beyond your wildest dreams,,

Single axle dump trucks are heavy, relatively speaking.
You can load about 5 ton and stay under 26k.
Tri axle dumps can load 20 to 22 ton.
Big difference between the two.
Given that anyone can operate one without a cdl, the money for that work drops like a hooker's panties.
So, to get into that, knowledge of equipment, specifically skid steer, mini excavator, trencher, Toro dingo, etc... is needed.
The guys I know that are in that business pay well for operators.
17 to 20 an hour.
The bulk of the work is on the ground, not driving.
Larger companies run tri axle dumps for efficiency.
Smaller ones run junk equipment because they're scraping by on smaller jobs that don't pay.RoadSideDown Thanks this. -
