I've replaced crank sensor, timing sensor, fuel pump, check and clean the fuel line with ball in line next to the fuel filter, new fuel filter, checked all fuel line for cracks. It won't even start with ether. checked fuses all good. I have a code that says ENG Controller HIGH 128s254 00. any advice?
01 Detroit 60 series won't start and run but turns and crank.

Do you have a SEL/CEL with key on?
-
254 comes up as external RAM failure. Ecm is likely done.
Try a spare ecm.Bean Jr., LoneRanger and patrick224 Thank this. -
Does it sound normal cranking? If you have compression and all of the internals are turning in time it should run on ether. If with a clear shot of ether in an unobstructed intake doesn't get it to run for a second I would look first at the camshaft timing.
patrick224 Thanks this. -
It does crank on ether for a second and sounds normal when running. I also changed the timing reference sensor and the synchronous reference sensor. I’m starting to think it may have something to do with the ecm. Yes the check engine light is on with key on but that’s normal for this truck until it starts and then it will disappear.

I don’t know if I reset the computer, but the check engine light was on and I turned it a couple times now and it disappeared
jamespmack Thanks this. -
If you do not have cel/sel with key on. You have lost power supply to ecm, or ecm is done for. Its not communicating. -
Yes, I do have a cel/sel with key on but I notice that it blanked a few times then it stayed on.

Corroded ground on frame near battery box. The little wires from battery are for ecm power. Also check small hot wire, with small in-line fuse for corrosion/ check for loose connections at battery.
jamespmack and patrick224 Thank this.
