Funny, the other day I heard this story on the radio and all the creative ways to more out of the truckers. Extending the hours of service, higher shipping weights, and of course more drivers and lowering the age to get a CDL. The very next story was truckers waiting 6, 8, 10, 12 hour to get in and out of the ports. So what ##### good is it to find 80,000 more truckers when problem is clearly within the ports?

Oh yah, extend driving time hours to 24, max weight load @whatever fits in the box, more immigrants, and let the teens drive. Sounds like the goberment has a plan! mfw. Bring Jimmy back, srsly.

Been saying this for the last 5yrs. THERE IS NOWHERE TO PARK AFTER 7 OR 8 PM. So if more drivers came into trucking. Then where would they park. On the side of the interstate?

7 or 8 pm? Lol try 4 or 5 in most places now.
What I'll never understand being Canadian I always take 10 off in the states because there split is stupid imo. But when I park at night the people who were there before me are still there when I leave. I have to ask how these guys make money with being constantly parked

And to top it off, trillions for “infrastructure” and none of it for parking. Zero.

Just thinking out loud here, but it looks like the “trucking part” of supply chain crisis could be fixed with out 80,000 new drivers and fixed with about 40,000 new DEF sensors available and in stock for the current drivers waiting to get back on the road.

I've been through many lots already filled by 3pm and there's nothing is being done to expand parking availability, to best of my knowledge. I guess the robots don't need sleep, so perhaps they view expansion of driver services as a wasteful investment. Who knows what the suits are thinking, and what about that American Trucking Association? Do they even do anything? Or just another bureaucratic agency awaiting bribes and obediently serving their government overlords. What a mess.

    D.Tibbitt Thanks this.

Prerry much, but whatv else do you expect when the people making the decisions and regulating what we do couldn't tell you what the inside of a truck even looks like
