I have a day cab and I can't go far. I'm looking for a local owner operator job. Any types of trailers that I could buy that could get me local loads from load boards? I live in Denver Colorado
What's a good local job for owner operators?

Colorado is a pretty big state. If you want to stay close to home maybe narrow the location down a little further.

A lot of heavy Beer and Water Loads in that area. But I doubt it would pay enough to work for yourself in that area. Very cheap area compared to most areas. But if you got the very late loads it might work out for you.

Dump, flatbed, tanker….
it’s a lot easier to park my sleeper in the drive way every day then do anything productive with a daycab when local work slows down…. -
Denver area put a wet kit on. Tons of construction going on. No idea what the local rates are but Denver is a black hole for dry van

Denver local flatbed work wasn't very good when I looked at it last. Precast concrete and oil field paid fair, but concrete was basically seasonal and oil field work wasn't reliable enough. Brokers were wanting to pay $250-300 to run from Denver to Colorado Springs on the spot market, usually tarped and heavy. Most loads that paid good end up being just out of reach to do a round trip in a day with few reload options, like to Durango, Grand Junction, or the middle of nowhere in Wyoming.
I'm not sure how much has changed for power only since I last did it, and now there are a few Amazon DCs around. But I still get calls and emails from brokers right before a snow storm is going to hit. If it snowed every week, I would consider staying local.
