I apologize in advance if the formatting is off, don't know where else to ask.
I'm currently 20 years old, planning to get my driver's license soon. I read on Prime Inc website that 10 year driving history is required in order to become a truck driver.
I realize this is to check for any accidents or tickets that might've occurred within those 10 years, but by the time I turn 21, I'd have less than a year of driving experience.
Would I still qualify by then or do I need to wait 10 years?

    Chinatown and 77fib77 Thank this.

You just need 10 years of employment history with Prime. School is ok too.

10 years is 10 years- even if you didn't have a license for 9 of then. My company has the same policy and regularly hires 21 year olds who have a maximum of 6 years on their driving abstract, so I wouldn't worry.

You may be asked why you didn't have a license. Answering "I didn't need one yet" or "I couldn't afford insurance yet" is perfectly fine.

Most companies that hire new drivers require having a drivers license for 12 mos.

I think that the DMV requires you have a regular drivers license for at least 12 months before you can test to get a CDL learner's permit. We had a guy that started with me at the Swift Academy. At the end of the 1st week, those that didn't have their learner's permit were taken down to the DMV to get it, which included him. The DMV wouldn't let him take the test because he hadn't had a regular license for 12 months. So, he disappeared. He was a fairly annoying guy, so the rest of us weren't exactly upset he didn't get to continue.

Each state has its requirements for a CDL. You would need to find out what your state requires.
It should be listed in the basic information FAQ’s some thing like “ what do I need to get a CDL”
