A tractor-trailer carrying garbage overturned on a local highway Saturday morning, potentially causing even more delays for those headed to EDC.
At 11:47 AM Saturday, the NHP southern command Twitter tweeted an alert, including a picture of the incident.
According to the tweet, garbage and 40 gallons of diesel spilled over on I-15 NB/northern beltway after a trailer overturned for an unknown reason.
No injuries were reported.
NHP advised motorists to take alternate routes as crews cleaned up the scene.
Later, the department tweeted an update warning those headed to the speedway later for EDC that the incident may cause extra delays in the already transited area.
Delays along I-15 NB will continue throughout the weekend, as the festival takes place through Monday morning.
Festival-goers have been suggested to view alternate options when getting to the speedway this weekend.
