So, I am now actively involved in the hiring process - about half way through to being officially hired with a company .
I have a little over 2 years OTR / Regional experience driving..... However , my last time driving was just under 2 years ago.
So my question is : Just how rusty am I going to be?
Any of you go back to driving after taking a while off ?
Any tips, tricks or videos to get my head back in the game ?

My main concern is that my driving test with the new company is going to be my first driving after a 2 year break. -
Don’t stress about it, just remember the basics and be very aware of your surroundings and you’ll be fine. Drivers have always been needed, they want to put you to work.

Yes....like riding a bike. You'll be a little wobbly for several days..... that's it.Then..... Like you never left. Good luck!
Savor the Flavor and Moronica Thank this. -
Once you learn to float shift it will come back. Just be easy on the clutch and don’t ride it.
Moronica Thanks this. -

I drove from 1989 to 2000, then I took off to be a biomedical engineer for 12 years. Had a couple of other adventures, and hooked a 53 footer again in 2015. The first couple of turns were rough, but I stuffed it with 45000 pounds of soda and headed for Florida the next day. Yes, it comes right back.
JolliRoger and Moronica Thank this.
