yes...always be prepared. We always kept a CLEAN credit card (for car rental) and an extra couple hundred in the bank....just in case. You never know what will happen out on the road.

My husband drove for Arrow and was a lease driver and did very GOOD at it. We left Arrow in 2007 though...i am glad we did.

While it might seem logical to you, as well as many others, that is not always the best way to think. Sure you could call lots of other companies. Now days many of these companies, (even one you are currently working for possibly) will get emails from DAC showing that mom and pop across town in Nashville checked your DAC report. I ran into that problem with JB Hunt once. Was like pulling teeth to convince my f.m who I really think still didnt buy my story to make me think he understood it was an "old application". So if you do always keep a "network" and keep options open and available, keep in mind DAC is the company man. They are like the District Attorney when you go to court. They are not your friend, but the people tryin to keep you some place you don't want to be. Glorified tabloid if you ask me. Nothing better to do than charter our lives in print and give it to any tom dick or harry who pays a few pennies for it. We are "unpaid celebraties". I am happy I got my local job. No dac crap to worry about. Hourly pay, with overtime. I feel sorry for anybody stuck out there with a bad company who wants out.

Agreement reached between Arrow Trucking executive, estate

    By Land Line staff writer
It's been nearly two years since Tulsa-based Arrow Trucking Company's abrupt closure left drivers stranded all over the country without fuel or money to get home.
Since that time, Arrow Trucking's bankruptcy trustee Patrick J. Malloy III has been tasked with finding assets for the estate to pay those affected by the collapse.
Malloy told Land Line on Thursday that a proposed settlement of $450,000 has been reached with former Arrow Trucking Chairman Carol Pielsticker Bump, which may lead to a second payout for drivers.
"Eventually, we will be able to effect a second distribution to drivers, and this settlement gets us closer to that distribution," he said.
According to court documents, once the agreement is approved by U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Dana L. Rasure, Bump has agreed to pay the estate $320,000 in cash within 10 days.
In January 2011, Malloy filed a lawsuit in against two former officers of Arrow Trucking, Bump and her son, Doug Pielsticker, former Arrow Trucking CEO, in U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma.
The lawsuit alleged that Bump and Pielsticker received fraudulent transfers of at least $12.8 million of Arrow Trucking's assets for their personal use over a four-year period before the company's Chapter 7 bankruptcy petition in January 2010.
According to the lawsuit, Bump received $4.4 million in fraudulent transfers "disguised as salary," and Pielsticker received $8.4 million in fraudulent transfers from Arrow Trucking.
"In their capacity as Director and CEO, Carol and Doug owed fiduciary duties to Arrow (Trucking)," the suit states. "Carol and Doug, in the exercise of reasonable care and business judgment should have known that the transfers specified herein constituted either constructive fraud or were effected with the actual intent to defraud and taken steps to prevent such transfers, and that such transfers constituted the dissipation of Arrow's assets to the detriment and harm of Arrow (Trucking) and its creditors."
Malloy said a second payout to drivers cannot be made until litigation is settled between the estate and Transportation Alliance Bank of Ogden, UT, which he said is still "asserting an equitable lien against the assets in my possession."
The trustee has also filed a lawsuit against Transportation Alliance Bank seeking return of money that was transferred from Arrow Trucking to Transportation Alliance in the 90 days before the flatbed carrier's collapse.
"In essence (Transportation Alliance Bank) asserting that their interests are prior to the estate's interests," Malloy said. "We dispute the assertion of that lien, but until it has been resolved, we cannot make a second distribution."

Use what you got. If you were with a company doing long haul and they went under. Why not use the truck as a O/O since now they do not own the truck any more and hook a few cash runs to get close to home as you can. Or talk to the bank and take over the payments for the truck. It is only a idea, but I am sure the bank would be happy to keep getting money and not loose out on the deal. You just became a O/O and if you know a few places and yards, you could make it happen. If you got no sat then they have no idea where you are. But it is just an idea.

Several drivers did try to work out a deal like that with the finance company if I remember correctly. Arrow didn't own any trucks. Daimler and KW did. Not sure if any of the drivers that wanted to keep their tractors were able to, and the trailers had to be brought back too. That all depends on the BK trustee. Can't just wander off with the equipment and start pulling your own freight with a defunct authority, that's begging for all kinds of legal trouble.

Besides, you didn't want that craptastic "equipment" anyway.

I hate to see that this happened. Since Pielsticker sr. died in the plane crash, the youth raided the store. I had some fond memories of my time at Arrow. I was with them in 2000-2001. Glad I was not there for the collapse.

Wouldn't have done any good as the holder of all the authority was out of business and no insurance so no broker in their right mind would have allowed a driver of an uninsured truck with no authority or IFTA haul a load for them. The best they could have hoped for was to sell the outside tires for fuel and go home and let them come and tow the truck back OR take it back to the yard or get as close as they could without selling parts and then sell what they can of their own stuff to get a bus ticket or be able to carry if another driver offered them a ride home to not get drug deeper down the toiler that they were!

And I've been asked WHY I don't have more in a truck that I can carry on a bus or aircraft without paying that extra baggage rate! This is just one example of why! If I can't leave it or sell it quickly I trash it and buy the replacement later.

They are not. Justice delivers slowly.
I escaped from Arrow , in the fall of 08.
Mainly because they did not have team positons and my wife was coming aboard.
I actually did well on an eastcoast dedicated out of Pulaski, VA. Hauling Hardy Board.
