A lot of the truck stops carry fresh fruit and veggies in a togo cup. It will be limited, watermelon, strawberries, pineapple then of course apples, oranges and bananas. That ought to make a good shoot my. This is Loves selection just about year round .

I would think cleanup might be an issue but if it works go for it.

True. If you want to pay 10× what grocery stores charge.

Trucker path has Walmart locations. The majority are right off the interstate and are big rig accessable.

I usually use the satellite view. To be sure. Have a half dozen locations saved in my GPS. Those are my go to locations. Usually stopping once a week or as needed.

    Just my opinion.

    What Wasted Thyme said.

Once a week Walmart stops for your 30 minute break will do wonders for your health and wallet. I have a microwave, electric skillet, Burton stove, and a 14" charcoal grill, and a coffee maker. So many ways to keep from wasting money on unhealthy truckstop junk.

Walmarts...A lot of them you can fit the truck in the parking lots...I hit up walmart probably at least once a week....Check truckerpath app though or call to make sure you can park there...Also if you are in places where they grow a lot of food, like CA99, you can hit up fruit stands.

Just curious. Does anyone prep meals at home and vac/freeze them?

I've been trying this and have been pretty successful. I bought a 22 inch Blackstone griddle and set it up at home.

I usually buy a dozen steaks of various types, boneless skinless chicken breast/thighs and pork chop/steaks. I grill them up on the griddle, let them cool. I debone the pork chops/steaks and vacuum seal everything. in 4-6oz serving sizes. Then I stick them in the freezer until it's time to head back out.

I have an Alpicool 60qt fridge/freezer I just use a freezer. I stock that up and put that on the top bunk. Once I'm out on the road, I take 2 or 3 frozen packs and toss them in the truck fridge to thaw. I have a small butane stove and a pan that I warm up my meat with and I also have a microwave but rarely use it. Sometimes, I just eat them cold. Then I just have to stop at WM for fresh veggies and water. I usually stay out 3 weeks and sometimes 4. I find that about 25lbs of mixed meats last me at least 3 weeks

The Alpicool runs on 12vdc or 120vAC. it only pulls 45 watts so can be used with the 300w inverters or just plug it onto a power port. Bought it on Amazon. bit pricey but the savings from not eating in truckstops pays for it on 3 months...lol

Anyway, Just curious if anyone does the same thing

My wife has tried her hand at home canning and does an awesome job of it.

She will cook up a number of different recipes up and use the smaller pint jars for me. I’ll grab several when leaving the house and use a plastic case from Walmart to store them which keeps them from hitting each other.

Then when I’m OTR I can grab a single serve pint and microwave it and have a home made meal right in the Truck.

I use to, but don't have a kitchen at home now. I buy Evolve meals, freeze them and then take one out per day and enjoy.
