60 series 12.7 motor . Ok this the problem. I changed out a sending unit and and a kink in line on passenger tank so I ran out of fuel driver side was empty passenger tank was full. Fix kink and tanks started leveling normal. Next day didn’t want to start used a little starter fluid then cranked up just fine. Everyday it got worst I had to use more and more started fluid and had to turn it a lot more for truck to catch. I changed out the fuel check valve and still the same thing. Now I’m thinking I have a leak in supply and it catching air and not fuel. Are my pump is bad and need to be replaced. Any help will be appreciated.

If it's getting worse, I would start looking for a suction leak, from the fuel pick up tube and wherever it connects to. It sounds like there is a vacuum leak and you are losing prime.

When you fixed the kink, did you change the length or routing of the line? Both lines from both tanks need to be in a constant upwards direction. And both need to be the same length and diameter, to draw evenly, bigger the diameter the better, to help avoid an air gap. Can’t have any high spots/high loops, Air will get into the high spot, and lose the siphon draw effect. They should both go into the splitter valve. Supply to fuel pump should be on the top of splitter valve at the highest point, for same reason.

I was thinking you’ve been Driving daily. If not, you’ve just been starting it daily? You may have just lost prime, if the repaired passengers line is routed properly. They can be very hard to prime. Quickest way is to use a rag, and an air blow gun, putting air into the fuel tank, to pressurize it, and push fuel through. Once it’s running good, shouldn’t lose prime again, unless a lines opened up, or fuel is drained from head. Maybe when you changed the check valve, that’s what happened. Making it seemingly worse. Pressurize the tanks. It doesn’t take much, 10 lbs is plenty. The rag method works. No need for anything fancy. May need 2 people, one to crank, while putting air pressure into tanks. Good luck.
