Lofgren gutted everything but his compenstation. The tinfoil hat wearing part of my brain wonders if he owned a part of Lodeso and orchestrated the whole final mile thing to pad his pocket.

    Opus Thanks this.

    And the Ratchet handle people.
Who the heck else have these stupid things?
But, they're full on in business.

    Yeah
Except if a truck can get the container to its destination in two days , it will typically take a rail road six to nine WEEKS to get the same container to the same destination.

anyone who has ever shipped large amounts of freight knows this .
If it doesn’t matter if your cargo takes months to travel a few hundred miles , use the railroad . if your product is valuable and needs to be there in a few days you’re gonna be using a truck

I actually like the ratchet handles. The only problem with them is guys start wailing on them with a hammer instead of using a couple of squirts of PB Blaster. I know I'm in a minority, but the number of times I've been able to utilize the ratcheting handle to lower a trailer onto my 5th wheel because there isn't enough space in between trailers (I'm looking at you Campbells and General Mills) without having to prostrate myself to a yard jockey makes the downsides worth it.

Actually, I just wrangle them around and tap them on the underside of the trailer.....no big deal.
But in nearly 10 years with the company they have come in handy something less than 5 times.
And no one else has them. No one.
    What does that suggest?

Just calling it the way I see it. Keep in mind, the commoners own a really small percentage of the capital markets. The American people lost their country, perhaps a long time ago, but none the less. It just gets so tiring watching it play out the way it does.

No, was not aware my observations were those of Engels.

FWIW, Trump put a guy in charge is SS to fix the problems, like the problem of allowing "the cripples" to get monthly stipends from it.

But, truth be told, all is politics, and since the money men know this, they figure all rides on the success of the empire itself. The system deteriorated over time, where all is based on consumer confidence and what have you. Over time, we just have to get used to living in a Hollywood production right? I get it, but I disagree on some fronts, the federal government and federal reserve just blew a 10 trillion dollar wad on saving the Oligarchy. Social security remains unfunded. I object.

But, back to the original topic.......

There is no truck driver shortage. However, there is a decided dearth of executives willing to think outside of the box.
18 year olds can haul all you want within state lines.
Put them in the state and force everyone else out, and your problems are solved.
But, that's not what they want.
They want more slugs willing to go anywhere for any price because they can't import them fast enough.
