My international has a button on the side of the seat. I press it and it massages my back. Enough said.

Don’t know if anyone mentioned the 18 being stronger than the 13. I’m not sure, exactly what internal parts. But used to be anything ordered with more than 500 hp had to have an 18 for warranty. Due to the torque ratings on the higher HP engines.A lot of regular freight haulers would spec a 475 Cat. W/ 13 spd. Once the warranty was up, turn the engine up to 550, and drive it right, so not to tear up the trans. I can say my friend paid $1500 more for his 18, than my 13, once. Then $2000 more when the first one came apart. Warranty refused, said it was Driver abuse. No way he abused it. Typical cost fir a 13, $3500 US. 18, $5000.-$5500. Maybe more. Something to consider.

The 98 WS you drove gets my vote. Something similar. Since fuel economy won’t matter anyways hauling heavy. You need power. You need torque. They are some well built Trucks. Easy to work on if needed. Saving time and Labor costs. Has to be a lot of them in Canada. Parts, price and availability along with the cost to repair a Cat, wound be the problem. I like Detroit’s. Dependable and economical. Not without their problems, and lower torque than Cats. A Big Cat can be very turnkey and reliable. Parts like turbos, fuel pumps, everything is just so much more costly when needed. I don’t know enough about Cummins to have an opinion, except they always seem to have injector issues. Research into prices of parts on whatever your considering should be done. Along with taking note of any expensive repairs already made on common problems of prospective Truck. The Stars are tough, relatively simple, and amazingly maneuverable. And usually a bit above most on interior quality and style. Price usually less than a Pete or KW. Many General parts can be bought at any Dealer. It’s the WS only unique parts that can be expensive and hard to get.

13 speed says max 2,050 lbs of torque.
    18 speed is 2,250 torque.

The way I would order is with just 1,850 torque, so would be fine. An 18 speed is a waste for me anyway, I do not split gears in the low range more than about 5 times a year, and wouldn't miss it at all. If need be I can run the engine 100 rpm faster.

Screw that, just weld a 6"×6"×6" block of steel to the frame, and top of the axle housing. It wouldn't have the problems, and ride about the same.
I drove 1 Mack, about 2,000' to load it onto a lowboy, and that was far enough. Don't know the year, will guess 1980's, but that was the most crudely built truck I could imagine any truck brand building, and it rattled from everywhere. It was bobtail, and still under powered. It just left me swearing off ever buying a Mack, even if they are wonderful trucks now.

Idk I'm only 6', think I was 6'1, or 6"2 before I drove a WS with Chalmers rubber block suspension or a few older with hendrickson.

Decision has been made, and T800 ordered.
My little sister has also ordered an identical truck.
She didn't even check the specs, just asked the salesman to make hers completely identical to mine. As she was driving us home, she asked me for some deetes. Tomorrow we are going to order 2 new trailers as well, a K-line lowboy, and Freflyt hayrack logger.
We have also struck an agreement to buy our father out. Us 2 sisters, become business owners January 5th, 2022. Dad becomes our newest employee, working part time, some in the shop, and driving as needed. Dad agreed to work up to 10 days per month, as long as no more than 5 days in a row, and then at least 2 days off. But will work full time, up to 5 days a week until I am healed, and done some Rehab. He wants $50/hour, time and a half after 8 hours, and double time after 11. We will also be renting 3/4 of the shop, and yard space, $1,000/month. Building a 16'x16' office building. Dad will let us use the home office till its built, or November 30th 2022, whichever come first. Dad will finance us, we will pay him $10,000/month for 5 years.
