Has anyone driven for the Us government that requires escorts? What's it like to have armed escorts? Do the police mess with you? Do you have weapons in the truck? BTW there's not a topic for this so I put it in hazmat

I haven’t done any government loads but we use to haul I phones for a company we worked for, actually we picked up I phones at fed ex facility. Anyways we would have police escorts follow us to the point of delivery. They were armed officers working on their day off to make extra money. They were actually really cool. One officer was actually a homicide detective in the Chicago area he told us about a few situations and explained waterboarding in detail to us. Needless to say he was not opposed to waterboarding. I imagine he’s came across so crazy messed up situations. I remember they were beneficial especially in congested areas we put our signal on and they take the lane so we could get over with more ease.

That company use to haul pain medicine like 3 million dollar worth and a driver told us that an armed cop would follow and a helicopter would fly along with. Now that I never seen, so can’t be sure on that may be trucker talk (lol) but I have experience the armed police escort and no they don’t give you any trouble at all.

The only weapons in the truck with you are the ones you carry if you carry.

So you are going to skip driving a landscape truck/dump truck/coca cola truck/home depot truck/tanker truck/bounce house truck/xpo/FedEx/JBHunt/Sysco/beer truck/blah blah blah and go straight to the big dog top secret government loads? That’s your latest plan?

Majority of all “Government” loads are probably going right by you.
Out of sight out of mind.
I have hauled a lot of classified loads and the trailer was locked and sealed and I was given specific instructions on check calls and parking.

    Lite bug Thanks this.
