Lol
my brother always introduces as “ I’m Bob, and this is my first wife Carol “
even after I stopped driving and got a regular job , when I came home after a 10 hour shift , I’d there was something needed my help, she’d snag me at the Door , “don’t take your shoes off yet , I need help with XYZ”
she knew that once I got on the couch and got my boots off , i wasn’t getting up .
when we first got married my wife would mow the grass if I cranked the mower , small yard , push mower .
she also helps with all the home repair and remodeling. When I was rewiring the entire house she was helping pull wires etc .
she helped with the hardwood floor install etc
now she’s got a excellent job and makes more than me , by almost double . But works 60 hours a week. sometimes more . Last year her bonus was more than I made working all year.
Everyone at our house does their own laundry . When our kids were tall enough to reach the knobs , we taught them how to wash their own clothes .
we bought our kids a used car but made them “pay” for the car by leaning a foreign language.
Is it too much to expect your home time to be an actual day off?

You’re not allowed to leave the truck. Only at shippers/receivers, fueling, and inspections are you allowed to open the door. You must eat, drink, poop, pee, sleep, and drive in your truck. Home time is taking that long walk from the drivers seat to the condo. That’s it. The company owns you now.

Well I’m divorced. Have a live in girlfriend though. She’s 16 years younger than me, she’s a beautiful Latina who loves to cook and clean. When I come home the house is spotless, I start to clean something and she says let me. I’ll text her what I want for dinner and it’s there waiting when I get home.
But I fear if I marry her all that would change and she’ll turn into the same nagging drama queen that I divorced. When I was married I’d routinely come home to a dirty house and an empty fridge.
But for now life is good. -
