But I'm getting marginal for 322 minutes on the road.

 

Man i was ready to go home in june but just toughed it out to pay off my truck and keep working my way up the totem pole in this gig i got. And its worked out good. Paid off my truck but then wrecked it so I've just been grinding away trying to stay ahead of the rental payment . eventually I will get my truck back. fully paid for then really start making money when i can put it back to work with no payment, now that im the number 2 guy on this gig up here. Its been a hell of a year to say the least but i think it was worth it . and i have accomplished all the goals i set for myself. And even surpassed alot of them. Cant complain even know there was alot of bs thrown at me and even some of it i created myself from my own stupidity and inexperience in business. After all is said and done i love my job. Thats all that counts in my opinion. Live to learn another day.

 

My papa asked me to look for another power only O/O with a heavy spec tractor to pull a trailer. First guy I called said good, when do I start. I said Monday morning, he said see you there. I replied not me, I'm off for a few months due to injury. 90 minutes later he was at my door with 8 bags of groceries, including a Butterball turkey. He has pulled for my dad on and off as needed for more than 15 years. Told me he has a brand new Star, it came in 5 weeks ago. His first non KW tractor. He plans to run it 7 or 8 years, sell it, and retire. Love him, he used to take us kids to his lake cabin some weekends when we were kids. He and his wife tried and tried to have kids, never could. So they borrowed us on occasion They both have beautiful souls.

 

Wow!

My longest ever work trip was 4 nights staying in 4 different motels, done that trip 7 times. One part of the drive up, and on the way back, there is virtually nothing for 560 kms. My last trip i saw 6 vehicles, and no buildings, for 560 kms. But maybe 38 billion mosquitoes give or take some, 9 moose, 27 deer, 6 bears, an entire herd of caribou, easily 100 eagles, 20 hawks, and 10 falcons. Stopped and helped an elderly man put on his spare tire, shared a snack with him sitting on the tailgate of his Chevy. Stopped to fish in a river for a bit twice, built a small fire in a pull out, cooked my fish both times, called it my lunch stop, had a 2 hour radio talk with a gentleman behind me, and shared my fish with him when he caught up. What an interesting life he has had. Strangers are just friends I haven't met yet.

Made it out of Tacoma/Seattle easy, sitting in Eastern WA at a nice quiet independent place. Deliver Friday morning in MN and have nice recaps coming so I can hopefully catch a weekend load to make it a VERY profitable week.
