If you like to be alone, just remember that the team driving during training will most likely be more stressful than when you're solo. You're in super close quarters with someone who may even be obnoxious. Just bite the bullet and you'll literally feel euphoric the day you go solo with no one breathing down your neck.

I think you’ll be fine. It’s all mental. It’s all about attitude. Just remember these words of encouragement.

    When a problem comes along
    You must whip it
Before the cream sits out too long
    You must whip it
    When something's going wrong
    You must whip it
    Now whip it
    Into shape
    Shape it up
    Get straight
    Go forward
    Move ahead
    Try to detect it
    It's not too late
    To whip it
    Into shape
    Shape it up
    Get straight
    Go forward
    Move ahead
    Try to detect it
    It's not too late
    To whip it
    Whip it good.

Got my CDL at 35. Worked in warehouses before that and saw plenty of older truck drivers that said they were new after taking a while to get backed in.

Was one woman who looked like she was in her 60s. Brand new driver and turned out to be a regular driver coming to the warehouse. Was able to see her improve at backing over the course of 6 months.

this guy is great motivational speaker. If you think you have it bad there is always someone who is a little worse off than you. You just have to get the motivation to do something about it and I see you’ve made the first move by contacting stephens so good for you.

Trucking is great especially for someone with no ties to anyone and for those who like to travel and see the country. I was 48 when I got my cdl and now that I’m 52 I actually own my own trucking company. Ya it’s a 1 truck operation at this time but I’m making a great living and I’m driving across country to do so. Like you when I got my cdls I didn’t have any money so I went to a driving school that I needed no money down and after getting my license they took 50 a week out of check but I had to stay with company for a year, which I did, and my schooling was paid in full.
