theres a lot of really good greases out there, my advice is to find one you like and stick with it, not all greases are compatible with each other so if your constantly switching grease flavors of the week they may not preform nearly as well.

Chevron 1 or 2 depending on the season. Truck is greased weekly, and it takes at least a full tube to go from front to back. Then the trailers. Buy the fifth wheel grease in the 5 gal buckets and slap it on with a nitrile glove on my hand.

Red grease for the Summer and green grease for the winter.
I'd imagine Canadians can get away with the green stuff all the time...

IDK what the white, tan stuff is? baby poo?

This is a recommendation per temperature range for Cat grease on heavy equipment. I thought some folks might like the information. grease.PNG
We use NLGI 2 much of the year, but I may switch to NLGI 1 year-round as it covers our typical temperature range.

This thread reminds me of an old joke.

Guy walks into a brothel. Goes up to the madam and says I want a good time.

The madam says oh I got a great time for you and yells towards upstairs “Harry grease up Wanda”

That’s 100 bucks she tells the man.

Oh I don’t have that much he replied.

So the madam yells upstairs ‘ Harry grease up Dorothy’

Only 50 dollars she tells the man, but he replied I don’t have that much.

Well how much do you have she ask? 10 bucks he replied.

So the madam yells upstairs ‘Harry Grease Up’

The only engine oil we kept on the reel was 0W-40 year round. If you look up Cat's spec 0W-40 actually covers pretty much the same high temperature range as 15W-40 but is good to around -35°C on the bottom end.

Hmmmm. Pretty sure there’s a joke to be had but I’ll leave it alone.
