Fmcsa money grab.. nothing to do with safety

Oh joy i wonder when the first lawsuits will hit us dump drivers seeing as we literally CANT have a dot bar and do our job. Just wait till the first over zelious dot officer or lawsuit happy lawyer use this as a precident to sue the pants off a dumptruck after a car gets mangled.

 

Pretty sure if you’re not required to have one you can’t get a ticket for not having one. Lots of trailers with their axles at the rear have no bumper.

 

I was driving back to my truck after home time. There was a massive slowdown with many poe leese, fire trucks and ambulances. A black car had rear ended a semi. The car went through the DOT bumper and stopped when it hit the tandems. Couldn't guess how fast it was going.
