A few years ago I asked the Pilot if I was safe leaving my truck overnight as my mechanics lot was full and he was going to get it from them the next AM
Manager said I could leave it but it had a pretty good chance of being on a container ship before the next day
So the problem must be real!! -
Just picked up my new pete. The truck was supposed to have been built no later than September 30th. It was delivered to the dealer November 8th. When I talked to the salesman about ordering a second truck I was told at this point best he can promise is a delivery date in 2023.
They were told by Peterbilt they could order 100 trucks next year. That's 20 % of the 500 they were planning on ordering. This particular dealer has a 1000. Dollar deposit with a 30. 00 credit card fee to reserve / order a truck. The 1000. Is fully refundable.
In my opinion if the supply issues get resolved or the economy tanks and orders get canceled they may be allocated additional trucks. Time will tell. But at this point most companies are booked thru next year. Finding the same with trailer companies. Most booked thru next year.Vampire, shooter19802003, Pamela1990 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Ordered two trucks last week, was told 7 to 8 months. Trailers depend, logging trailer is 2 months out, lowboy is 4 to 5 months, fuel trailer is 16 months.

All 3 trailers are built in BC, the logging trailer is built just 80 kms away. We already have an almost identical Logging trailer to the one I ordered. Top quality trailer, and they always have parts in stock, incase I do need something. I also buy many truck parts there. I call, order, and they put the order together. They call me back usually an hour later and tell me my order is missing something but they will have it in 2 or 3 days, but the rest of my parts are boxed up and ready to go, or i can choose to wait till the rest are in. If they are going to be closed by the time I arrive, they leave my boxes outside in their pickup spot. Last time I got there after hours, 4 boxes had my name on them, and another box had a name on it i know well. I called him, and asked if he would like me to grab his parts, and take them to my shop. He said that would be great, i said consider it down. As i was going to leave as soon as i could, I left his parts sitting on my trailer. Its a small town this shop is in, and everyone helps everyone else, and a handshake means more than a signature.Vampire, shooter19802003 and Tug Toy Thank this. -
