A woman jumped out in front of my truck from the shoulder today. I did my best to avoid her and the traffic to my left. She didn't give me time/distance to totally avoid her so there was a nasty collision. I will be processing this in my head and in my heart forever. All I know is that at the time of the ambulance transport she had a broken arm. Haven't heard any other details yet. That's all I have for now, I appreciate the TTR community so much.

Wow. I am sorry that happened. How fast were you traveling?
JoeyJunk, Dave_in_AZ, mjd4277 and 5 others Thank this. -
Very sorry you have to deal with someone making you part of their problems but the key is to remember that it was her problems and not yours. It’s ok to feel bad about her but she dumped a big bag of emotional crap on you so the best thing is to move on. Not your fault.
JoeyJunk, Dave_in_AZ, austinmike and 11 others Thank this. -
Hey man, as long as you did everything you possibly could to avoid it without endangering anyone else, you did good. Don't let it get you down.
JoeyJunk, Dave_in_AZ, scottied67 and 10 others Thank this. -
Sucks, but don't dwell long. Not your fault. Get back to driving asap.
JoeyJunk, scottied67, flood and 8 others Thank this. -
Hopefully your cam was rolling at the time. You can link it when ever you get over the adrenaline rush

Sorry to hear about this, I wish you all the best.
I can’t imagine how terrible one’s life must be that jumping in front of a truck would be their chosen way out.JoeyJunk, Dave_in_AZ, scottied67 and 7 others Thank this. -
Prayers to all involved.

as someone else mentioned, i hope your dash cam was on at the time.
also, as said, do not dwell on someone else's problems or thier doings.
it could have been worse, (i think) if she died. at least, you have comfort in knowing that you are not responsible for her actions, and did what you could to avoid killing her.
hopefully, she gets the mental health help she needs, so that yet another driver doesn't go thru this as well..
i hope that your company has some sort of "professional help" for you too.JoeyJunk, Dave_in_AZ, scottied67 and 6 others Thank this. -
Horrible situation she put you in. Good thoughts sent your way
JoeyJunk, Dave_in_AZ, scottied67 and 6 others Thank this.
