I thought it was. They made a 78 with round headlights. Very surprised to see that. Stripped down Trucks for the Forest Department. They really look nice. My Dad has a 78 just like yours. I think he paid close to $5k in 81. It was very nice Brown and Beige, 390 auto. Topper, Chrome mag wheels. It got stolen from our driveway in Detroit. Got it back, New wheels tires radio and topper, they stole it again. Never found it. At that point he really didn’t want it back.

I can imagine. I loaded in Forsythe, cut across to LaGrange. So far no traffic. Deliver Mobile on Friday. Short miles but good rate. Gonna make a holiday of it. Hard part will be getting out of Mobile. Not much going on that I see. Need to be home Monday.

Glad I don't have to get a permission slip for anything. Three cars including my project RX8, an old Dodge 12 valve, motorcycle... I have a hard time saying no to things with motors.

If the world hasn't melted down by then, I may get a Z06 to add to my stable.

Are they still casting any in the US? I thought all cast iron stuff went to Brazil year ago.

Keep in mind this is a torque monster big block........ Not a whiner small block HP number over functionality dyno queen

I'm thinking dump the 3.73 gears for 3.54 (since that's the lowest number available) to improve highway driving ability.

Will probably go slightly larger diameter tires to fine tune.

With the wide gear transmission (2.72 first vs 2.40 factory first) I would still have a higher torque multiplication to the tires in first gear.

    current setup = 3.73 x 2.40 = 8.952 reduction in first gear

    planned setup = 2.72 x 3.54 = 9.629 reduction in first gear.

May still need to get an overdrive...... Ford 3-Speed Auto - Gearvendors

It's ok. I wouldn't swim for it though
