Glad to see the ride back up and running @Tall Mike breaking down on the road sucks, that's one of the reasons I decided to reel it in earlier this year and run loads that get me home every night. I still cover a lot of ground, but for me the reassurance of being close enough to home was something that was important to me. I've been running the heck out of cold patch, and sea shell lately. A little odds and ends here and there, I get jealous of some of the spots I see you guys deliver to at times, I swear it, I rarely dump anywhere that isn't an absolute challenge in itself, a customer in particular who I frequent a lot, without fail, requires I take the time to get my shovel out and build a level spot to dump, EVERY time. I've asked a million different ways for them to keep their bins level, I must be speaking the wrong language......Safe travels home. Hope you get your truck woes straightened out @Arctic_fox it's been a trying year for you thus far, if you're making it through this, you should be good for whatever challenges await.

I've got another load of.....you guessed it, cold patch. 27 and some tons headed to Sarasota for Monday, then taking the rest of the week off, welcoming in my parents from Dallas for the Thanksgiving holiday. Safe travels to all.

Whoa I missed a lot. I wasn’t getting alerts there have been thread updates. @Arctic_fox i think I can read between the lines here and I don’t blame you. I’d do the same thing. @Tall Mike i had no idea Tom Peace ran those kind of miles. Your updates are great. @Trashtrucker1707 i feel your pain bro. Everywhere we dump seems to be some sort of crap show on the side of a mountain in some sort of soft slop and we always have to haul heavy. Wednesday we had fertilizer on, got there and they don’t take end dumps but they needed the fert. So they got out some auger from 1832. Took like 4 hours. Then we rinsed out and loaded corn, which is notorious for paying great  long story short, I’m over it. The challenges I once found thrilling are just annoying now. Running heavy ain’t worth the risk, and it doesn’t reflect in the paycheck, so I’m out. Wednesday was my last day. I’m thankful for my time there. Also grateful I can say I have a perfect record in terms of dumping, but I’ll be the first to admit more than a handful of those times were just luck, pure and simple. I won’t say I won’t ever end dump again because it is a niche of trucking I did enjoy, hell I won’t even say I won’t ever be back to the company I worked for again, because you never know. But as of now I’m just burnt out on the whole deal. With all that said I’ll still be lurking and commenting on this thread if I’m still welcome. Happy thanksgiving to everyone! Hope it was a happy and safe one!

@motocross25 I'm starting to feel the same, but it's not just with "dumping", it's the industry as a whole. I've been driving basically since I graduated high school, minus a little stint of being a plumbers helper for my Dads business. The environment out here has changed so much, too much "I don't give a crap" exists out here anymore, people blocking fuel pumps for no good reason, nasty truck stops, nasty truck stop showers, nasty truck stop food, for me personally here in Florida the complete lack of respect while driving down here is enough to drive me nuts, people here really are the worst I've ever seen. For me I'm at that crossroads of life trying to figure out what I can do career wise outside of a truck to make the same or more than what I'm bringing in now, looking back on it all I wish I would've stayed in the trades and learned plumbing more, it pays well and comes with career advancement. I've witnessed my Dad go from working with his tools when I was growing up, to now within a year retiring as service manager for the largest HVAC/Plumbing company in the state of Texas.
