It's already horrible skill wise on the roads, people from other countries quickly getting a cdl have no basic understanding of general driving in the USA let alone in a tractor trailer. I will be parking even more this winter, basic maneuvers are hard like turning and stopping. YouTube and popcorn for me.

So many Brazilians coming here buy trucks and work for cheap... and still brag to their compatriots about how much money they make... :biggrin_1square1:

$14000 a month!! Wow sign Me up. I’d like that in writing please. No wonder it’s been dubbed Sweatshop on wheels. The misinformation propagated by Megas and their Politicians is criminal.

I’m surprised the number is only $65k. They should be saying 250k. Not that it’s true. None of it is. 65k is really a drop in the bucket. Compared to the total amount of Drivers. I’m sure it’s less % than the unemployment rate.

Interesting bit of information, I came over to the USA to drive for a Utah based company back in the boom times in 2005 the company had to first prove that they could not hire enough locals for the job to the Dep of Labour then the DOL allows them to petition the USCIS to authorize visas for Foreign workers it is interesting that as truck drivers we are still regarded as non - skilled category of H2B. So for anybody to travel to the USA to work as a Truck driver they would have to go through the same process the visa's are only temporary valid for about 6 months although the company can apply for extensions, with a quota of only 50,000 split up among all the different companies in the USA vying for workers.

That is almost tolerable, compared to what I, almost stepped into lately , absolutely no consideration for anyone but themselves, accidents happen, and can’t be helped, but clean up after your filthy selves, most times from what I see a few more steps one way or the other gets you out of the main traffic, or to an actual ####ter

While I understand you concern that may apply to some foreign drivers, however I'd have to strongly disagree with your statements having gone through the very same process myself some 16 years ago, anyone with any experience driving heavy vehicles in either Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa would have no such issues adapting to driving conditions in the USA. Which was the case with me within two weeks of getting my CDL I was out running the I -15 and I - 80 delivering loads of cheese to Cosco, Albertsons, Smiths, Walmart, and Mc Donalds warehouse distribution centers. As long as one observes the road rules, and knows how to handle a 40 ton truck and trailer, it does not matter where one originates from.

Well if enough of American Workforce weren't so soft. No need for foreigners be imported to work.
