Slamming the tandem stop when sliding trailer

    I just witnessed Stevens perform an epic tandem slide. He was loaded so something triggered in his head that the tandem should be moved from the rearmost position, to the foremost position.

    Good thought by Stevens that the tandem should be moved, not as good going all the way forward, but completely epic the way he did it. He must have reached #### near 10mph before hitting the stop. That solid contact made a good loud percussion sound, but the icing was watching the trailer going from a standstill to about 10 or 15 feet from where it was.

    I take points off his performance because the trailer stayed on the ground. The Pride driver I watched last year was empty and managed to get the trailer bouncing up and down a few times. I imagine Stevens can do the same once he’s empty. Stevens, a company for professional drivers.

    I doubt he knows that it slides. I suspect Stevens prefers it that way.

    People are rough with that equipment aren't they? I bet when he drops the trailer he don't crank the landing gear all the way down before he pulls out from under it.

    Maybe he was still heavy on the drives and was trying to move the tandems a foot or two in front of the stops. Nothing like a ten foot trailer swing.

    I see a lot of guys muscling that which works better with finesse. Sliding a tandem qualifies. The company I used to work for had a lot of trailers with damage done by the likes of the Stevens jackarse.

    I saw a swift driver a few weeks ago backing into a spot at a receiver. Not a dock, just to drop a trailer. Double space between two trailers on either side. He was a trainee WITH HIS TRAINER!!!!!

    what did he do? The trailer to his right he manage to smack right into it. The trailer to his left after he made numerous readjustments never once using his mirrors only following the hand gestures of his trainer outside the truck, he managed to scrape along side it for about 15 feet. Lol this guy literally hit both trailers with a double space to maneuver in on both sides of him with a trainer. Trainer is bent over with her hands on her knees in disgust shaking her head, but she was the culprit. I literally was supposed to leave as I was ready to go but I sat there munching on some trail mix while I watched the free show. This guy never once even looked in his mirror. He was terrified. Just tried to follow her hand signals. Lol

    it was unreal.

    I did a rookie mistake a long time ago no making sure the pins were set and slammed that mofo when I hit a stop man that scared the crap outta me

    I've seen more than a few guys, almost always megas, SLAM the kingpin when connecting, and SLAM the tandems when sliding.

    I figure they're just in a hurry to get those extra miles on this week's settlement.
