I have to agree with the commentary in the article. Asking people to keep hands on the wheel and pay attention while the car does the driving is never going to work. People are too lazy and stupid. It needs to either be capable of full autonomy or nothing. Really, I think I'd find it more taxing to be paying attention just waiting to intervene when the car does something stupid than to just drive it myself. I think Tesla was negligent in even naming theirs "autopilot."
