Curious, do any of you buy your dispatchers, planners, office personal, presents of gift cards etc for the holidays? Or might they take it as a bribe of some sort? Lol

I never have, but was thinking it might not be a bad idea.

    thoughts?

May be frowned upon for the reasons you mentioned. I think all of the office staff should give the DRIVERS gifts!! Lol:rolleyes:

Does a flaming bag of dog poo count as a gift?

Question is: do the office people give you gifts? If not, why give them anything.

I do give gifts & have received them. Life is short it's a blessing to share it with beautiful people. I work with some & have bought lunch for them. I'm buying lunch for one of my receivers when I head out to New Mexico. Tis the season of giving. I take all gifts :D:D

If you are worried that a gift may be perceived as a bribe I suggest you might reevaluate who you are working for. That doesn't sound to me like a healthy employee relationship.
That said, I've never found a reason to give dispatch a gift. Mostly because I don't actually like anybody in dispatch.

I always go against the grain......Yes, I would give office personnel gifts, probably booze. You should want to "stand out" from the rest of the drivers. I once gave 3 bottles of hootch to 3 loaders at a rock quarry I went to about 3 times a week. These guys were just regular loader operators, but worked very hard and it was a thankless job. I gave the bottles to the girl in the scale window to give to the operators. And do you think it was appreciated ? I mean, they talked about it for 3 weeks (over the C.B.) EVERYONE wants to be acknowledged. Try it out. :3some:

Silent bribe, that’s why. Lol Do they deserve one? Nah. Well there’s one at my place I’d not hesitate, older gal, sweet and does an excellent job, always respectful and thoughtful.

I have always given my folks at Schneider something. Not because I expected anything in return, but more because I knew what a thankless job it was.
Give because you want to. Not what you expect in return.
