I don't understand why anyone is buying a new truck right now. You can grab a 12 year old truck for 25k, put 50k into it, and it will be just as good as 200k. I know that sounds insane, but truck prices are so high, that it makes more sense than buying new. My truck has 550k and I'll replace the engine long before I replace the truck.

I’ve done the used truck thing for 7 years, in the long run new trucks make financially sense.

I have 4 years of books to proof my point.

My line of work is also drastically different than OTR.

Yeah, you could have a use case for it. I use to pump concrete, I would vastly prefer a new truck, except we had them break down while pumping due to emissions issues, so yeah, no.

62m of pipe filled with rapidly setting concrete and the repair cost about $285,000 if you don't get it out.
Of course that is daily threat in concrete pumping. 99% of my job was playing with a joystick, and 1% sheer terror when something stops working.

Friend of mine used to run older trucks and 4 years ago he started buying brand new and he’s money ahead. It’s also easier for him to attract and retain drivers with new 389’s versus rebuilt 379’s.

I don't know you, but I now hate you. UGH, mixer drivers. They bring concrete and a bad attitude.
