Ah 5 mpg doesnt sound right man . I have some guys running the same setup doing 6.5 to 7 mpg . Now that will change if you run the mountains alot or you have a high gear ratio but here in the midwest 7 mpg is easy to attain with 389 . My 579 gives 8 to 8.5 mpg fully loaded driving at 68 mph in the midwest and 5.5 to 6 in the mountains.

The new 389’s are garbage now with the digital dash and all the nanny aides. I’m only getting this new one because my beautiful new truck and absolutely brand new high spec Great Dane trailer were stolen last month out of Florida.

I haven’t said anything about it in the forum yet because I’m completely devastated and embarrassed about losing it.

If you decide to keep it understand that it’s one of the easiest trucks to steal.

Ahh iam really sorry about that.i can only imagine how devastating it is for you brother.for the same reason I have 2 kill switches in my 579 one for fuel pump and one for the batteries. I learned this the hard way when someone stole my 2011 mustang gt . if i keep that 389 it will be getting those switches installed too. Pretty impossible to steal with no working fuel pump or batteries.

Normally I would say jump at the chance to take advantage of another person's stupidity but the world is nuts and the price of another like it could be that much more next year. I know if it were me I'd sell it and find a good 379 to rebuild from the ground up, you'd probably spend less on that than the new truck cost.

With the profit you can make from selling it. It should easily fund that project

Those who buy these truck for over $200 000 must be experts in this industry because the price alone demands at least $250 000 - 300 000 revenue every year to make it sensible. Ensuring that amount from the brokered freight is not something that a laymen or a lazy man can do year after year after year.

OK it's trivia time...which one of these 4 paid that ridiculous amount for a truck (new or not) at the auction?

    A. Billy Bob who just completed his 1 year sentence at a Mega but saved all his money for a down payment and has all the answers on how to get rich quick in the biz....
