Mine's an older sled, 2010 Arctic Cat HCR 800, 153 track. Stock but still gets the adrenaline up sailing up the side of a mountain. I'll usually head up the mountain, shred the powder for a few hours then head home. I just bought a camera so hoping to make some videos this year.

Well I hope you can make it for a trip this winter.
McBride is overrun almost every weekend with Albertans who come to sled.
Since you moved away from BC to Alberta, you will feel right at home there, parked amongst the sea of Alberta plates. Can choose your poison once at McBride. Renshaw, Bell, Dore, or Lucille, all good riding areas. Renshaw can get a bit hairy with all the weekend warriors going up, drinking beer for 2 hours at the cabin, then hitting the hills. Lucille and Dore are my favorites.

I've been on roads with my old man where they've had to walk the loader down and pull the trucks, fully chained, up to the landing. You haven't lived until your old man fires you out the driver's door and makes you walk a kilometer down the road ahead of the truck. All because the road is not only steep enough we had to be dragged, fully chained, up to the loader, but also badly sloped towards a near vertical 200 foot drop and the ankle deep mud was as slick as ice. I'm suprised we and and the other truck made it down in 1 piece to be honest.

She's not exaggerating, its a dangerous job.

I normally go up Raft. We'll usually be up in the good riding areas by 9am and most cases its just us and maybe 1 or 2 others. Hit the good powder and head down. We'll usually pass a lot of folks heading up when we're heading down. I don't like riding when there's more than 5 or 6 other sleds in the area, too crowded and usually those noon sledders are just out to drink.

She's not exaggerating. When you pull in the Mountains? You better be on your game plan. Sometimes, a 1/2 second or less from the inevitable.
Been there many times with my right and left legs shaking so hard that it was hurting ok?
i dumped a Truck, Trailer and center mount loader on July 4th of 84 at 72 mph on a 90 degree turn. A long steep down grade, fully loaded with green wood of the stump. Drums heated on the outfit, no brakes left. I seen my little Daughter all the way over the long hard downgrade. Seen Her in living color. She was about 9 yrs old at the time. That up to now has been the longest 4 minutes of my life. Everything came back to me that early Tuesday morning.
Pamela 1990 and A Model Cat is not making these things up.

Don't know who to believe now. Maybe I could try it in Ontario before migrating to BC.

I've driven the standard hwys in BC and a couple of smaller roads in the rockies but most of my experience comes from doing mountain passes like Danville Arkansas which are dominated by logging trucks and a similar one in Georgia. All had those 90 degree blind turns and crazy grades. The one in Georgia I stumbled upon in the dead of night and I'm glad I waited until morning to do the Danville run. When I got to my delivery in Arkansas, the folks I delivered to were stunned when I told them I rode through there.

I know a lot of people crap on TV for over-dramaticizing everything but go watch a few clips of mud mountain haulers. That's a pretty accurate depiction IMO. Might have been a little scripted drama between a few employees but the conditions they're driving in are 100% accurate.

If you come out from Ontario to pull logs in BC, them real logger men will knock your teeth and kick your balls out anyway, you won't even have to try to piss them off. Ontario means yer a Leafs fan, and Leaf fans get a punch in the dick.

I think the clip you posted says a lot. I had to pick up a load of wood chips in BC and the client was situated along one of those roads. All that mud can be an issue to deal with
