He was crying because he got caught and had to pay the price for his recklessness.

Yes but judge also said “Colorado law allows the convicted to appeal to have sentences run concurrently not consecutively and I hope he does”....or something to that affect

Maybe. maybe not. you don't know, even so, I am hopeful once he overcomes the prison life fear and finely find in himself enough remorse for the victims, he'll cry again. There's parole board, better specialists than you or me to assess that, in theory.

Looks like the careless driving causing death is a misdemeanor while vehicular manslaughter is a felony. Unfortunately it's perfectly legal to be charged multiple times for the same thing as long as it's a different class/jurisdiction. I don't agree, but I didn't make the laws.

Some members of the Truckers Report seem sterner prosecutors than the very ones that tried the fellow. They don't seem to be content with the very exorbitant sentence but also want to guy to be branded as someone he is not, or even more done to him - like he could fall into hands of White Supremacists -someone said. Like they could not see potential of finding themselves in a similar situation, which I don't wish any of you.

That was me. So, I could go to a foreign country where I don't speak or read the language, take a safety sensitive occupation that I'm unqualified for, kill people after making several poor choices, blame another driver, racism and climate change for my plight and then get off with just prison for decades? Seriously? If I did that in China I wouldn't get the GoFundMe fundraiser, a jury trial, the option to bail out or an appeal. My organs would be sold to foreigners, removed without anesthesia and whatever was left of me would be fed to hogs.

The guy ####ed up big time that's without a doubt. But by no means did he intentionally kill anybody. And the shady company shouldn't get off Scott free either, that's a whole other issue. Manslaughter I can see maybe 15 years tops but not life that's harsh when you have murderers and rapists doing way less time. He was an example to be made of. Does he deserve time, yes he does because he could of avoided it totally with the escape ramp but not life. Obviously on some level he knew the decision he made could result in death but saying intentionally is a very fine line

That goes without saying lots of changes need to be made industry wide. No more CDL mills
