Venezia transport

Well I hope things work out well for you. If there's something you want that you're not getting, say something. In my experience they'll try to work something out for you. I wanted a manual trans truck and they got me one, I won't let it go either lol

 

You get a week after a year, 2 weeks after 2 years, 3 after 3 and I'm pretty sure you top out at 4 weeks. Since they honored my prior tanker experience I'll get 2 weeks after a year. Your time does expire too, you'll either have to use your vacation days by the end of the year or they'll just pay it out. Paid holidays, 25% added to your pay if you choose to work a holiday or weekend but it's very rare that will ever happen

 

So my good run here may be coming to an end, I still haven't decided yet. I was given a formal offer for a company called Nalco Water, a division of Ecolab, hauling chemicals in bulk. They pay all hourly, starting at $30/hr with OT after 40, up to $33/hr after training is complete, 60 hrs a week max. New equipment and an extremely organized, by the book company. It sounds like a very good deal.

If I take the job it will not be an easy move. I've really enjoyed working for Venezia. They leave you alone, maintain their equipment, have no problem getting me home when I need to be, pay very well (and pay you for everything you do), pay for any and all detention, and are just nice people to work for. I've been re-routed a few times leaving Massachusetts to go to Philly. I made it halfway back and have been turned around to go north to Warren PA. They would drop a pin where I turned around and pay me the entire trip instead of just from A to B. I've been making between $1,800 and $2k a week running 25-2,800 miles. This is the easiest best paying job I've ever had. I really can't think of any downsides. I hope I'm not making a bad move.

 

Very good point! It isn't just the hourly rate, the new place is only 30 miles from my house and I would be home about 2 days a week. My fault for not including that. The more I think about it the more I think I should just stay where I'm at. I don't like being watched like a hawk, I like the fact that I'm left alone. I appreciate the insight!!

 

They consider one drop of material a reportable spill...I understand their point of view, but that's just too much. The bonuses are, your per diem is a credit card so all your meals are paid for and you don't sleep in the truck you stay in hotels. I was excited at first but I'm seriously second guessing it now
