Iam saying leasing for me is better for me ...here is why no money down better to right off lease easy access to a truck no money down ...easy way to make a million in 4 yrs ... bank wants 25k down on a new truck plus all those fees + interest financing what 20% on new 1srt time buyer ....take both trucks equal trucks ...I ll lease over bank financing......

Sorry I haven’t posted in a while, came out of the house after thanksgiving, 1st load on the 1st cancelled on me before I left, so I stayed home another day.

tge next load picked up on time, 4k on 407 mikes. I took some personal time to visit a guy about buying puppies for my family as a Christmas present. My week then went to ####. I took a load up to Mass from PA, the load was partially rejected. I lost a day in mass waiting for the powers to be to figure out what to do with 18, 65 and 75 inch Samsung tv’s.

I did not get empty to pick up my return trip from mass. Finally I drop it in a secure lot. Go to the casino in Philly, where I go blow a grand. Have some fun and the worst Philly cheesesteak ever.

new day, fishing for freight since all my pre plans went to ####. I hook a $4800 run fro Rhode Island to Springfield, Mo. the load was for the next day pickup, so to kill time, I grab a load from Jersey to Connecticut, figured if I’m paying the tolls to go over GW bridge, I may as well make money. I arrive at 2100 for a 0200 appointment and did not get unloaded until 1300, barley make my pickup that supposed to be a hook preloaded and ends up being a live load. I get there and there is a single loading dock, that has a tractor broken down in it. While I sit waiting I book a load out of Kansas City area back to upstate NY, for $4300 then finally 3 hours later he is out of the door. I back in to get loaded, forklift is down, they are hand loading pallets then loading them with product. I nap in the door. 9 hours later I’m on the pull. Headed to MO.

I pulled a big dumb rookie move. Trying to get to my fuel stop in STL I ran out of fuel on the hills, 3 miles from my fillip. I ubered to the stop got s fuel can and put 5 gallons in my tank. Yup, I felt like a ########.

I get moving to find out, I was not out of fuel, I just couldn’t pump it on the up hill, so I get to the truck stop fill up at $2.91 a gallon. And finish my night off. I make my delivery a drop n hook, earlier that evening the night coverage team called to ask if the location I was delivering had empties. I was wondering the same, so I asked for a back up location if they did not. They did luckily I didn’t have to hunt for a trailer. Hunting sucks I love to fish for a load, but hate to hunt for an empty. I shut down about 100 miles from my pu. The dumb ### on nights unbeknownst to me added a stop to get an empty, I woke up, pretrip my trailer in the light, and set my GPS for the first stop in my route. It’s a Walmart DC, I pull in and immediately question WRF am I doing here this is s target load, I research it, I call my IC advisor and raise hell, he figured out the night idiot added a hook empty to my stop AFTER I sent in a macro showing a new trailer # and said empty! So I went 49 miles past my pick up to go 51 miles back, now I’m 3 hours behind because much of that was 50-35 mph I was planning on being in Albany next day first thing, now I won’t make it until late morning 6-7 hours in my drive time.

I get pulled into every scale house from STL to Albany. No violations no issues. I have no freight booked, I need to stay in the eastern PA area to pick up my kids Christmas puppies. I find a load that takes me by the house to do s reset, pays $2200 on 345 miles, hook and drop in Columbus Ohio, i bobtail home. Come out the house after taking my passenger seat out and loading a dog kennel in. I hook that $4000 load for 407 mikes again and drop in PA, deadhead home to pick up the same load the next day. I get back with the puppy Breeder and pick up my dogs. I hook a load from PA to NJ and NJ to Boston then back from Boston to Pa and PA to home.

im stacked for a 13k week and then my loads drop like flies, first the load to Boston, then I kick the load from Boston, then my other PA load says it will be read on the the 22nd at 2200 to Boston and I just don’t feel like getting stuck in Boston for Christmas. So I get a TONU and deadhead a total of 655 miles home. 3 days early with $4000 on the truck. I put the truck in the shop on Tuesday for a software update, (covered by warranty) then I find out on Tuesday it’s not done, may not be done until Friday, guess I’m home for New Years now too!

Oh the joys of trucking. I definitely like your rescue move for being out of fuel. I've been there too on the hill "roll back" :D:D. All the best a Happy End & New Beginning Year :D:D

Full disclosure, I did sacrifice some earnings for staying where I needed to pick up my new puppies. I cut and run home rather than make money when the last week went to ####. But it was all worth it for these two!

My husband and I are in the same situation, that’s the same reason we don’t want to be o/o , but trying to lease a truck these days is so difficult due to the truck shortage, hopefully that ends up soon
